marc davis redhead painting question

this is a very technical question. I know Marc Davis designed the painting in the bar, but did he paint it? On carefull inspection, the painting seems more naive.. in other words anatomy and shading seem off. In Marc's original sketch there shows a real knowledge of a trained illustrator, but the painting lacks something.
So, did someone else at disney paint it.. or did Marc intentionally make it look ..lets say, like a a folk painting from the 18th or early 19th century. I mean, it...

Change in Magic Kingdom POTC

I rode POTC in the Magic Kingdom today, and Doug pointed out something. The pirate in the burning town with all the hats had only one hat on his head. So I asked about this at the unload, and it's temporary. They said "he lost them" or "he lost them in the water" but they will be returned. So apparently it's a temporary situation.

Barbossa's missing a finger?

I was at Disneyland today and noticed something I'd never noticed before. As you enter, there's a likeness of Captain Barbossa to your right, and he seems to be missing his left pinky finger. Is this simply a mistake or is it canonical for his character?

In the ride where you pass the standoff between the ship and the tower, I couldn't tell whether Barbossa's animatronic had all the fingers in his left hand, but it looked...

Saw this article on AOL today.... it's quite humorous, but it links to a sight that deals with racy topics, so be warned.

Apparently, Disney is removing the Jack Sparrow Meet & Greet character for behaving like a pirate... actually, his lady visitors are the ones not behaving.

Disney is claiming that Jack Sparrow has lost his relevance, and so.... well, read on. Very...

I sent Disney an e-mail asking them to reinstate the walk-around Jacks. I received a very polite response, basically blowing me off. They said Jack was going to be at sea for a while, or some such nonsense, as it were. Bugger...

Davy Jones has left WDW

For the last 3 Saturdays, there has been no projection of Davy Jones on the fogscreen. Maybe Disney has decided the name and voice is good enough and feel the visual has worn out it's welcome.

Hi Everyone!

I recently made my very first trip to Disneyland and got to experience the original POTC ride. Being from the east coast, I always went to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando and I had no idea what I was missing until now!

Anyway, My recent trip obviously included several rides through POTC and I am really trying to see if I can track down some MP3 clips of Davy Jones from the final exit scene...

Hi, I was looking at the post about Moonlight Bay and I noticed that there's a detailed map of the castillo de morro. Does anyone have a map of everything? Castillo de Morro, loading area, the actual ride itself? Something along the lines of this one for the Haunted Mansion-->

If you haven't ridden POTC in Paris, it gives you a look at some of the scenes. It sort of shows the pirates involved in a swordfight.

Jack Sparrow Meet & Greet?

I know that Jack Sparrow shows up for Meet and Greets during the Pirate and Princess Parties, but I was wondering if he shows up otherwise in WDW. I've been to the Pirate Tutorial, and I know he's there too. Does he show up for Meet and Greets other than this, and if not, is it a possibility in the future?
